Caring For Your Sphynx
BATHING:
1.)What type of Shampoo is good for Sphynx?
I recommend Johnson & Johnson baby wash.
2.)How often Should I bathe my Sphynx?
A weekly bath is recommended for most Sphynx. You can bathe less or more depending on the individual cat.
3.) How do I get my Sphynx to take a bath?
All kittens bought at The SphynxsMeow start taking baths at an early age. I bathe my babies in the sink using a mat to prevent slips. Remember to run the water before you place your Sphynx in the sink.
4.) Cat Wipes:
You can use cat wipes in-between baths.
NAILS:
Clip Nails regularly make sure to avoid clipping into the "Quick" the pink part of the nail.
You may notice a black build up on your Sphynxs nails this is normal for the breed make sure to clean it when giving a bath to prevent microbial growth.
EARS:
Sphynx cats can get a waxy build up in their ears just like other animals and humans.
You can clean this using cotton balls, wipes, and certain ear cleaners. Be careful to research anything you use on your Sphynx. Never push wax back into the ear canal.
EYES:
Sphynx have no eyelashes so they tend to get gunk around their eyes. You can use a cotton ball that has warm water on it to clean around their face.
TEETH:
I brush all of my Sphynxs teeth. You can buy these products at pet stores. They also sell additives that can go into water or food along with sprays that are suppose to help the teeth.
Always consult your vet when using any product on your Sphynx. I am not endorsing any product. What you use on your Sphynx is ultimately your decision. As a new parent you should research just like you would for a child.

SOUNDS LIKE SPHYNXS REQUIRE SO MUCH WORK!
I have owned cats and dogs of different breeds. In my opinion, Sphynx are not harder to own then any other pet.
All animals require work! I am recommending what I personally do. Most Animals get tear stains that require cleaning just like a Sphynxs eyes. All animals should have regular nail trims, bathing, and teeth cleaning.
Sphynx are like children. They bring so much joy. I can never describe it to you. Sphynx are not like any animal I have ever owned. I hate to even call them animals. When you come home they run to greet you. When you walk around they follow your every step.
They love their parents. So every ounce of work you put into them will be done out of love. Love is never work.
